The Fisherman's love.
A fisherman was going out to sea for several months, he had promised to be wed to one of the girls in the village. Before he left he gave her a Claddagh, as it later was named after the fishing village of Claddagh. The ring was to symbolize his eternal love for her, the hands for friendship, heart for love, and, crown for loyalty. He was lost at sea and never returned. She wore the ring until the day she died, always watching for her soul mate to return.

The meaning of the four leaf clover
Four leaf clovers are considered a symbol of good luck but did you know that, Christian legend claims that Eve carried four leaf clovers from the Garden of Eden. Clovers have superstitious stories that date even farther back. White clovers where used by early Celts to keep away demons. Druids also believed that if you carry a four leaf clover it will bring you luck.
Four leaf clovers are still thought to bring good luck to any one who finds one. Each leaf carries a meaning:

2 - Hope
3 - Luck
4 - Faith.

The Meaning of the Irish Claddagh
A Claddagh symbol always looks about the same. The heart represents love. The hands are the sign of friendship. The crown represents loyalty.
Depending on how the owner of the ring wears the jewel, you give information on what your love life is like. Therefore be sure you know how you should wear the ring, in order to make sure no mistakes occur.
- Wearing the ring on your right hand with the heart sign pointing upwards is telling everyone you are single.
- Wearing the ring on your right hand with the heart sign pointing inwards tells everyone you are in love.
- Wearing the ring on your left hand with the heart sign pointing upwards tells everyone you are engaged.
- Wearing the ring on your left hand with the heart sign pointing inwards is telling everyone you are married.
The history of the Claddagh ring
There are several stories of how the Claddagh came to be, here are my two favorites of those stories keep in mind no one knows the real story.

Kilkenney Marble
Kilkenny marble is found in Kilkenny Ireland, often referred to as the marble city. Marble is defined as a crystalline limestone capable of taking a polish. Kilkenny marble is quarried in the black quarry, it is named that due to the black color of the marble. The quarry has been in use since the 17th century. It was filled in the 1970's but a cliff face still remains exposed and can be seen from the bennettsbridge road.

Goldstone is man made. It is a type of glittering glass made in the presence of a reducing flame. The most common goldstone is reddish brown, due to the tiny metallic copper crystals present. It is opaque. Some goldstone variants have an intensely colored glass usually blue or violet, or more rare green. The manufacturiong process for goldstone was discovered in seventeenth century Venice. It is also sometimes called monk's gold or monk-stone. The original Italian name for goldstone is awenturina.

Pearl
Pearl is made in the soft tissue of a living shelled mollusk. It is made of calcium carbonate. The ideal pearl is round, but there are a lot of other pearl shapes semi-round, button, drop pear, oval, potato, and many others. Most pearls are farmed from oysters. Here are a few ways to tell if a pearl is real or fake. Test the warmth of the pearl, plastic pearls will be warm on first contact and glass pearls will take longer to warm in a hand than real ones. Rub the pearl against your teeth real pearls are usually rough and fake are smooth. Check the shape if it is a perfect sphere most likely it is a fake. Check the size of the drilled hole real pearls usually are drilled as small as possible to maintain there value larger drilled hole's usually will mean a fake pearl.

Quartz
There are a lot of different kinds of quartz. It is the second most abundant mineral in the earths continental crust. Agate, onyx jasper, tiger's eye, amethyst, citirine, aventurite, rose quartz, smoky quartz, carnelian, and many others. It comes in a large variety of colors.

Chrysocolla
Chrysocolla is of secondary origin it forms in the oxidation zones of copper ore bodies. It is sometimes confused with turquoise because of it's coloring. It is usually found as glassy or rounded masses or vein fillings. High quality gem grade Chrysocolla can be translucent meaning it can not be seen through clearly. It is blue-green in color and is a minor ore of copper.

Jasper
Jasper is a form of chalcedony, which is a family of quartz that has crystals to small to be seen without high magnification. It is opaque. Opaque means it transmits very little light. It is usually red, brown, yellow, green, or very rarely blue. It is a crude form of silica the most abundant mineral in the earth's crust. Jasper is made of mainly sediment and ash.

Tigers eye is the planetary stone for Gemini. It is also a ninth wedding anniversary gift. It is a quartz stone. It is said to be good for spiritual health and well being. It is a chalcedony which is the name for a group of stones that the quartz crystals are to small to be seen without high magnification.

Turquoise is formed from a slow accumulation of acid deposition created from water seeping through another mineral like copper. Most turquoise mines are created from ore, that fell on a pocket of turquoise. It is usually found in drier areas such as Arizona or Nevada. Because of the alteration of leaves in cavities that can accumulate turquoise.

Connemara Marble
Connemara Marble can only be found in Ireland. It is mined in the Connemara Mountains found in western Ireland. The quarry has been there since the 19th Century. It is green in color and very beautiful.
